Hi, this is Dean Mercado from Online Marketing Muscle, and welcome. Today, I will bring you a little segment from our Magnetic Marketing Series once again. It’s been a while but Magnetic Marketing Series.
We often get asked how to attract to us instead of doing so much effort-wise to market ourselves. Today is one simple trick to set you off on a path to a magnetic day. So what do I mean? What’s that simple little trick? Well, it starts with what I call having an attitude of gratitude. Now don’t take this one lightly, folks. This is very serious stuff. An attitude of gratitude. How do you start your day with an attitude of gratitude every day?
The best way to explain this is to give you a little clip or a little snippet of my world. What do I do? What do I do exactly? It all starts with a ritualistic morning exercise that I go through. And what I mean by that is I have a handy little journal with me here. This is what I call a gratitude journal, and in this journal, every day when I wake up in the morning, my first what I call my hour of power or power hour plus as I call it. I write down at least ten things that I am grateful for in that journal. And I do this purposely first thing in the morning because it sets my day off on the right path with the proper attitude, feeling good about my day. Not like, “oh, the weather outside,” I’m not thinking things like that. I’m thinking about the things that are important to me. The things that I’m grateful for. So I write them down.
Why do I suggest writing them down? Because it triggers something in your brain called the reticular activating system. Now that’s not me making this stuff up. You can Google this stuff and check it out on your own. But when you write things down, it triggers something in your brain to lock it in, locks it in, just like taking notes when you’re in high school or college or whatever. When you write it down, it locks it into your brain, into your being. So that is my reason why every morning when I wake up, I do my power hour plus. Part of that power hour-plus process may be a ten-minute part that is writing down what I’m grateful for today in my gratitude journal. So I write at least ten things, and this is what I’m suggesting that you consider taking on. And I say it’s ritualistic because it has to be a regular occurrence to have the most impact. So yeah, you could do it once a month. OK, well, that’s fine, but you get once a month results.
Just imagine how powerful or different your life would be if you were constantly focused on the things that matter and the things that make a difference for you. And sending that signal to the universe, God, and whatever you believe in, you’re grateful for those things. If you’re one of those people who the weather affects you, you wake up, and it’s cloudy, dreary, and it’s raining outside, and that puts you in a negative mood; well, just think about it differently. Try and find the positives in the fact that it might be raining today. You know me being an avid gardener especially in the summer months when it rains outside I’m grateful for it because my vegetable garden is loving that moment. Even though I’m I may not be too happy about having to go outside in the rain, but I’m not going to let that drag me down.
So the idea is find the good in everything. Look for the gratitude in everything and everyone and write down ten things every day. Now I take it a step further and I’m not going to get into that today but that’s just a little simple piece of it. You have the power of changing your stars. Consider it please. You can pick up a simple little journal, a journal like this, five or ten dollars. Grab it on any local stationery shop or even online. Some of your more popular websites have these things. Think about it. Think about what having an attitude of gratitude might do to your life and your business. Here’s to your success.
Thanks for reminding everyone about the importance of cultivating an attitude of gratitude. When you are grateful, u cannot be fearful! Those 2 things cannot co-exist. The easiest way to remove the fears in your life is through gratitude! I am grateful to have Dean Mercado in my life. He is a blessing and a source of INSPIRATION!
