Now I’ve been at this entrepreneur thing for the better part of a decade and have studied with and modeled a wide variety of successful entrepreneurs.

One thing that permeates all of my most successful mentors as well as all of the most successful entrepreneurs I’ve come across in my travels is simply that they understand and practice this one thing…
They give their time. They give their money. They give their wisdom. They give their love. They give their compassion. They simply give of themselves first and regularly. Not because they have to, but because they genuinely want to.
They don’t give with the expectation that they will get something in return. To them, that’s not really giving.
They give because they understand it’s not about them.
They give because they genuinely want to add value to others.
They give because it’s simply the right thing to do.
Need I say more?
So in closing, it’s all about giving.
Want more money… give more money!
Want more love… give more love!
Want more power… give more power!
Want more referrals… give more referrals!
Want more testimonials… give more testimonials!
The point here is that who you’re being has everything to do with what you’re doing each day which ultimately defines what you will have in your business and in your life!
Become the conduit that supports the natural flow of the universe and see the things you want flow to and through you regularly.

Great marketing minute. I truly believe in the philosophy of helping people in need. My particular and special gift is cleaning homes for cancer patients free of charge. Even though I do not get to meet most of the customers my crews service, I still get a feeling of pride knowing we helped one more person undergoing cancer treatment. It not only gives me, but my staff, a greater sense of purpose while we try to make the terrible darkness of cancer just, we hope, a tiny bit brighter.
Thanks so much Teresa… thought you might enjoy this one. It’s entrepreneurs like YOU that inspire me to create a post like this! Over the years I’ve seen you quietly and consistently give without any attachments or expectation of receiving something in return… that is admirable! Thank you for being YOU! Feel free to mention any causes you’d like to show some love to here… at a minimum, you’ve earned that!
I love listening to Dean Mercado’s marketing minute. Like Teresa, we also provide free home cleaning for cancer patients…its good to do something nice without expecting anything back in return. We also donate to other non-profit org like St Jude, Green Peace and at the end of the year (or beg of new year) we donate clothes, toys, and food to underprivileged kids in Bani, Dominican Republic.
Hi Victoria… I’m so glad you’re enjoying the Marketing Minute! More importantly, thank you for helping those in need… in my opinion it is a core trait of a superstar entrepreneur! Imagine what our world would be like if everyone just gave a little. Keep doing what you’re doing and THANK YOU!
WOW…. The most important minute and fifty three seconds anyone who wants to be successful at anything could ever listen to…. great stuff!
Thanks so much Ernie! You are right, this works for success no matter what you do. Notice the people commenting so far? I do! There is something really special about the business owners who run residential cleaning companies… they just GET IT!
Dean, aloha. Great Marketing Minute and I agree 100% with what you receive. There is much pleasure in giving and, of course, we never know how the universe will “reward” our efforts. One thing we know for sure is that whatever vibration we send out, is what we will receive.
A couple of months ago, I read a quote that resonated with me on the topic of sharing freely what you know. The quote was by a guitar teach.
“Even if I teach you everything I know, I will still know it.”
When people give, they do not take away from themselves, rather they add to all that is.
Wishing you a fantastic weekend, Dean. Until we tweet, aloha. Janet
Aloha Janet! How wonderful to connect with you here too! I’m thrilled that you enjoyed this latest installment of the Marketing Minute! I’m even more thrilled that it appears we have quite a bit more in common… our belief in vibrational energy as well as how the universe always responds/rewards.
Absolutely love the guitar teacher quote… thanks for that!
And yes, unconditional giving can be one of the greatest gifts one can give themselves (and others).
Enjoy your weekend as well!
Another great article that I will surely share and pass on! Happy New Year my friend!
