What makes a great website as opposed to a good one? Here are 3 things that you need to know to make that happen for your site.
Alright so you have what you think is a good website. Now what? What do you do to not only earn it’s keep but turn it from good to great? In order to have an effective website of any sort there are essentially three things that have to happen.
Number one. Your target market needs to know that you and your website exist in the first place. So let me ask you, do the people that you need to know you exist know you exist? Additionally what actions are you taking to build awareness?
Number two. Knowing is not enough. You need to persuade them to visit and in most cases visit often. So what actions are you taking to do that. What’s in it for them?
And lastly, number three. So now that you see the value that your website offers them and they finally do stop by, now what? Well you need to convince them to carry out your intended call to action whether that is to sign up for your newsletter, comment on your blog or buy whatever it is you’re selling. Your ability to get your target market to take your desired action is the bottom line is the determining factor in a great website.
So in closing, you need to be aware that owning a website is not a set it and forget it sort of activity. Without continually implementing the three things I just mentioned, your website…any website for that matter, will simply become a money drain.
